Magnetic Assembly
Magnetic Assembly
Magnets has become an integral material widely used in a variety of aspects we can think and those we can't. For example, in power generation, they are found in motors, generators, transformers, etc.; in electricals, we see them in magnetic components, microwave valves; in electronics, filters, sensitizers in telecommunications are using loads of magnets; in military defense, magnets help to build magnetic torpedo, electromagnetic gun, Besides, magnets are made into components or assemblies for storing, transmitting and converting electromagnetic energy or signal in miscellaneous industries like mine detections, ocean exploration, new technologies in IT, energy, biotechnology, space technologies, etc. Sometimes the natural form of the material can be directly used (such as magnetic liquid).

A samarium–cobalt
(SmCo) magnet, a type of rare earth magnet, is a strong permanent magnet
made of an alloy of samarium and cobalt. They were developed in the
early 1970s by Albert Gale and Dilip K. Das of Raytheon Corporation.
They are generally ranked similarly in strength to neodymium magnets,
but have higher temperature ratings and higher coercivity. They are
brittle, and prone to cracking and chipping. Samarium–cobalt magnets
have maximum energy products (BHmax) that range from 16
megagauss-oersteds (MGOe) to 33 MGOe, that is approx. 128 kJ/m3 to 264
kJ/m3; their theoretical limit is 34 MGOe, about 272 kJ/m3. They are
available in two "series", namely Series 1:5 and Series 2:17

Soft Magnetic Materials
Soft magnetic materials
are those materials that are easily magnetized and demagnetized. They
typically have intrinsic coercivity less than 1000 A/m. They are used
primarily to enhance and/or channel the flux produced by an electric
current. The main parameter, often used as a figure of merit for soft
magnetic materials, is the relative permeability ( mr, where mr =
B/moH), which is a measure of how readily the material responds to the
applied magnetic field. The other main parameters of interest are the
coercivity, the saturation magnetisation and the electrical
conductivity.
